Dr. Milliken graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1993. Through his work with surgical teams, Dr. Milliken began his career in optometry participating in the first available refractive procedures, which have become today's most advanced LASIK techniques. His career began with the distinction of being the first male nurse to graduate from Children's Hospital school of Nursing. He spent 20 years working in emergency departments throughout the northeast, including Boston, Portland and Philadelphia. His medical background and fascination of how the eye reflects systemic health and disease brings a unique perspective to his career as an Optometrist Dr. Milliken is currently a surgical team member at Post, O'Connor & Kadrmas Eye Centers in Plymouth. For the past eight years he has provided LASIK and other surgical consultations as well as pre-operative and post-operative care. The outpatient surgical facility is an industry leader providing state of the art technology. The most recent advances include procedures that not only correct vision without glasses but also restore the ability to focus at near, reducing the need for reading glasses while also eliminating the possibility of future cataracts. The Plymouth office is also the leader in providing the first intraocular contact (colamer) lens, which is the latest technology providing results that surpass the excellence of LASIK.
